South Side Explosion
The night of Saturday November 10, a home on Indianapolis' south side exploded, destroying more than 30 other homes and leaving two people dead. The explosion happened just after 11 o'clock Saturday night.
We were live from 11:45 until 2:00 am with wall to wall coverage. I produced the three hour weekend Sunrise, which ran from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. The average rating for the 6-8 o'clock hours was a 5.5, while the average share was an 18.8. The other three stations, combined, had an average rating of 2.0 and an average share of 7.3.
Several extra crews were called in to help cover this community disaster. Some reporters were on the clock for more than 22 hours.
This newscast was considered for a regional Emmy.

Taste of Tippecanoe HighlightsI produced this hour long, live-on-location broadcast of the 30th Annual Taste of Tippecanoe. Two months of planning went into getting broadcast on the air. Projects like this are what set me apart from other producers.
